Win the DayMentoring

What we built for you

Dan, this page shows the mentoring site as it stands today: what is finished, what works, why it works the way it does, and how to try every part yourself. Every link opens the live site.

Live at mentors.winthedayplanner.net, which also opens at mentors.winthedayplanner.com

The short version

Everything is built.

The site has four parts: the public site where coaches find and buy, the coach's dashboard, the mentor's dashboard, and your admin. All four are live.

Everything works today, except email.

The site cannot send emails yet, because it needs an email address to send from. Once you give us that address, the emails start. The section "What the site does by itself" lists exactly what that affects.

Coaches can pay today.

Payments are real. Buying a programme charges a real card, and every sale appears in your admin at once.

Your mentors join through one link.

You send one link to all your launch mentors. Each fills in their own profile and picks their price, and nothing goes public until you publish it.

The three mentors marked Sample are placeholders so the pages are never empty while your mentors come in. They cannot be bought, and they come down as your real mentors are published.

Try it yourself

Your admin login is your own. The test logins for a mentor and for a coach are in the status report we sent you; they are not printed here, because this page has no password on it.

The public site, no login needed

Mentor directoryThe directory shows every published mentor with their photo, sport and price. All mentors
Filter by sportEach filter shows only the mentors in one sport, and each filtered list has its own web address, so an advert can point straight at it.Men's Wrestling, Women's Wrestling, Athletic Director
Search and sortA coach can find mentors by name, sport or credential, and sort them by experience.Search "wrestling", Most experience
Mentor profileThe profile shows the mentor's story, credentials and philosophy, what the programme includes, the price, and the Buy button. The gold badge is "Verified by Win the Day", which you give in the admin.John Petree, Ashley Flavin
30-second videoA mentor can upload any short clip from a phone. The site keeps the first thirty seconds and plays it silently at the top of the profile; one tap turns the sound on.Sample Mentor One
CheckoutThe coach fills in a short form and pays on Stripe's secure page, with no account needed. Payments are real, so only buy if you mean to refund afterwards.John's checkout
Questions and answersThis page answers the common questions, and you can edit the answers.Questions
Refund, terms and privacy pagesThese pages set out the rules for buyers. They are marked as drafts until you approve them.Refunds, Terms, Privacy

The coach's dashboard

Log in as the test coach who has paid.

FeatureWhat it doesOpen it
My mentorsThis page shows each mentor the coach joined. The coach can also leave a review here, which you then publish. My mentors
SessionsThis page lists the mentor's upcoming group sessions and office hours, each with a Join button. The coach is emailed when a session is posted and reminded the day before.Sessions
LibraryThe library holds the mentor's lessons, files and videos. An uploaded video cannot be downloaded, and the coach's own email shows across the picture.Library
GroupThe group is a private space where the coach, the mentor and the other coaches post and reply.Group
ReceiptsThis page lists everything the coach bought.Receipts
ProfileHere the coach changes their name, phone and sport, and can turn the weekly email off.Profile

A coach who has not paid sees none of this. Only coaches who paid can open a mentor's material, and a full refund ends that access.

Why it works the way it does

Most of these come straight from decisions you made on our calls. The rest solve a problem you told us about.

FeatureWhat you asked forWhat the site does
Group mentoring, no one-to-oneYou told us there are no real one-to-ones, that this is group mentoring, and never to say "set the first call", because that sounds like a private call.Every page says group mentoring and "reaches out within three days". The site's own text and the weekly emails refuse any wording that promises a private call.
No programme lengthYou said you would hesitate to put an exact timeline on any of this.Every "four weeks" was removed. The site promises what a programme includes, never how many weeks it lasts.
Four prices, the mentor's choiceYou wanted each mentor to pick their own price from $99, $199, $299 or $399, because some mentor for accessibility rather than money. The mentor picks one of the four on their profile form and can change it later. A new price never changes a past purchase.
Pay once through StripeYou liked "pay once through Stripe, and then your mentor gets your details and reaches out within three days".Checkout is a single payment on Stripe's secure page. The site never sees a card number, and a sale is counted exactly once.
The three-day promiseThe promise you gave us.It is on every profile, at checkout and in the confirmation. The mentor is emailed the coach's details with the reminder.
Phone number at checkoutYou asked for the phone number, because a mentor needs to reach the coach.Name, email, phone, school or team and sport are stored with every purchase and shown to you and the mentor.
One shared invite linkYou wanted one link to send to all your launch mentors, not a link per person. You make a shared link in the admin. Each mentor who opens it fills in their own profile. Personal one-use links exist as well.
Profiles arrive as draftsYou vet every mentor.Nothing is public until you press Publish. Publishing needs a photo and a complete programme.
Mentors fill in their profile on the site itselfYou preferred the platform to a Google Form, so mentors see the process, and you wanted everything web-based.A web link opens one form. There is no app to install.
The trial programme on every pageYour "Mentor Information for Trial" document: sessions from the week of 19 October, four preseason sessions on Teams, office hours, and a Monday email. Mentors can do more.Coaches see it as what a programme includes. Mentors see it as their commitment. It lives in one place, so every page agrees.
A mentor sees only their own coachesYou said each mentor needs first name, last name, email and phone so they can communicate. My coaches lists the mentor's buyers with their contact details and a spreadsheet download, and never another mentor's.
Sessions, library and group are optionalYou said scheduling in the platform is not a priority yet, and that the first round is run by the mentors by email and phone. The tools are there for mentors who want them. No mentor has to use them.
Protected videoYou said lesson video should not be downloadable and should live on the platform.A mentor's uploaded video plays only for that mentor's paying coaches, inside the page, with no download, and the viewer's email across the picture. It runs on your own server, with no monthly video service.
50/50, paid by youYou decided on a 50/50 split, and to pay mentors yourself by Venmo or PayPal during the trial. The site works out each mentor's share after refunds. You record each payment, and the mentor sees it. Paying through Stripe is built as well and stays off until you want it.
Refunds case by caseYou decided to handle each refund yourself, with no fixed rule for now.The refund page and checkout say so. Only an administrator can refund, in full or in part, and the reason is kept.
Applications with yes-or-no questionsYou described mentors applying, and, if approved, filling in a profile.Four questions mark an application "below the minimum" when any answer is no; that flags it, and never blocks it. You decide, and every decision needs a note. The four questions are ours until you supply yours.
Site text you can change, with your rules built inYour two firmest rules: no timelines, no private calls. You edit the headline, steps, inclusions, questions and refund policy yourself. A save is live at once, and the site refuses wording that breaks those two rules.
The weekly Monday emailYour trial document: a weekly email on Monday, short and meaningful, with a resource when there is one.Every Monday morning each coach gets that week's message with their group's news underneath, and one click stops it. Who writes it is one of the decisions below.
Reviews and the Verified badgeWord of mouth between coaches, without surprises.Only a paying coach can review, once. You publish each review, and it shows a first name and last initial. Verified is a tick you give after checking a mentor.
The 30-second videoProfiles read as text, and a coach buys from a person they have seen.Any phone clip; the site keeps the first thirty seconds and plays it silently at the top of the profile.
Advert measurementYour coaches arrive from Facebook and Instagram adverts, and you need to know which ones work. The site remembers which advert brought each visitor. The Funnel counts visitors, profile reads, checkouts started and purchases, by mentor, sport and advert. Google and Meta measurement starts once your account numbers are pasted in.
Audit trail and usersMoney and people's profiles are involved, and you are the only administrator.Every admin action is recorded with a name and time and cannot be edited. Under Users you can confirm a coach by hand, and add or remove administrators.
The name Win the Day MentoringYou said you cannot rebrand as such, and asked for "Win the Day Mentoring" on this site only. The mentoring site, its link previews and its emails use the name. The planner business keeps its own.
A simple adminYou said you do not need it more visual, that you are the only person who sees it, and that it is easy to understand as it is.Plain lists and numbers, in the order of the menu.

Every email above is written and recorded today; you can read them in your admin on each purchase's page and under Weekly emails. None is delivered until the site has an address to send from. Until then, a coach who buys without an account cannot log in, because their password link arrives by email; a coach who signs up first can, as soon as you confirm them under Users.

What we need from you

  1. An email address the site can send fromOn a domain that is not used for cold outreach, so that receipts and sign-in links reach the inbox. This starts everything marked "Starts with email" above.
  2. Your mentors' profilesSend your mentors the link from Mentor invites, then publish each profile. They replace the sample mentors on the site.
  3. Your approval of the refund, terms and privacy pagesThey are marked as drafts until you approve them.
  4. Your Google Analytics and Meta account numbersSo the adverts can be measured. They go under Site content.
  5. A photo for Women's Wrestling, and a Win the Day Mentoring logo fileThe site uses the official laurel beside the name until a logo file exists.
  6. Three decisionsWhich yes-or-no questions new mentor applicants should answer. What earns the "Verified by Win the Day" badge. Who writes the Monday email: you, each mentor, or both.
